I want you to know that if you are a survivor of child sexual abuse, you should *not* watch Oprah today if you are alone. You should watch with a compassionate friend, if at all. Today’s show is extremely triggering.
As in: I am extremely triggered. But holding on. Beloved will be home in less than 20 minutes. I’m going to be okay. *Nods*
For those that want to know how molesters work, the interview Oprah did with four molesters will be available in its entirety at Oprah.Com by 9 EST. Again – if you are a survivor, please do *not* watch it alone.
I wish with all my heart that my mother would watch this, but she, from what I understand, hates O and her “melodramatic know-it-all bullshit”, so I highly doubt my wish will come true…
But. If she did watch it, I wonder if her heart would be softened by the knowledge that even molesters know that when a child is molested, it kills who that child was meant to be.
Kills.
So. Not. An exaggeration.
*Nods*
And then, I wonder…all things considered…was my mother molested? Because I can’t think of any other reason for her reaction to what happened to me…
*Nods*
Yup. It’s a very, very painful day here in Feithland…
…but we all know that the only way out is through, so I’m ready to dig all the way to China to get there.
